More Information about the Conference
The 2023 Africa together conference will celebrate the remarkable milestones we have achieved as a continent. This annual event (of the African Society of Cambridge University, ASCU) has consistently consolidated human capacity development for the student
community.
This year, we seek to build resilience and competence across three major subthemes: Business, Leadership, and Creativity & Innovation. Ekhaya (a Zulu word meaning: "our home")figuratively reflects our dedication to recognizing authentic identity globally, celebrating our achievements and the determination to guarantee a desirable future for the African Continent.
The motto for this conference is; Forging our Path, which speaks to our sense of agency but crucially and relevantly also provokes us to come up with authentic solutions to face our 21st-century challenges. Last year, the Motto was Taking back Control; therefore, it’s only fitting that once Control has been returned, the next focus should be on how we will use it. Hence, we must create our manifesto for change based on our unique identity that we channel from home.
Three exclusive interviews provide the chance for African business leaders, cultural icons, and politicians to go into detail about their careers and provide key and authentic insights into how they were able to achieve success. This format will provide the audience with never-before insights into our speakers’ lives and personal stories that will speak to the soul of Africa. The idea is that the speaker talks for 30 minutes and then there is 15 minutes of questions from the floor.
